Sourced

PROVIDING FOOD AND EDUCATING RESIDENTS

Sourced is a non-profit organization that pops up in West Oakland and sells well-priced, in-season, and locally grown produce to its residents. Currently, West Oakland is considered a food desert because of the lack of grocery stores and excess of liquor stores, convenience stores, and fast food restaurants in the area. As West Oakland is becoming gentrified, more food options are trickling in but they are not financially accessible to many longtime residents. The goal of the Sourced is to teach people how to take advantage of seasonality to get more bang for their buck, and to provide them with both healthy and family friendly recipes.

This was a collaborative project designed by me, Chelsea Lin, Lucy Wang and Yvette Nakamoto

In the logo and illustrations solid color was used to depict soil and line work was used to depict growth. The three lines are also a reference to the lines used in the illustration of the Oakland tree.
